Purolite MB400 is a ready-to-use mixed bed resin that consists of two key components:

  • Strong Acid Cation Resin (C100H) in the H form: This component helps in removing cations (positively charged ions) from water.
  • Strong-Base Anion Resin (A400OH) in the OH form: This component is responsible for removing anions (negatively charged ions) from water.
  • The resin mixture is fully regenerated and prepared for use after a short rinse to drain.

Applications:

  • Purolite MB400 resin is primarily used for the direct production of high-quality demineralized water.
  • It can be utilized in various applications, including:
    • Regenerable or non-regenerable cartridges: Suitable for use in water purification cartridges.
    • Large ion exchange units: Applicable in larger-scale ion exchange systems.
    • Non-regenerated throw-away mixed bed applications: Commonly used in scenarios where the resin is not regenerated but replaced when exhausted.
  • In small applications, it can treat incoming raw water to produce good-quality demineralized water.
  • It can also serve as a polishing step after other water treatment processes, such as reverse osmosis or ion exchange, to achieve even higher water quality.
  • Purolite MB400 resin can effectively reduce total dissolved solids (TDS) in water, resulting in low average conductivity values (approximately 0.1 s cm-1) for much of its service life.
  • The resin can help achieve nearly complete reduction of TDS when used as a polishing step in water treatment processes.
